Local Jazz artist James Do has found himself the perfect band member this Friday. Do has been playing the saxophone since he was twelve. He attended NOCCA in high school for music and has performed in numerous concerts. He always speaks about the trips he took around the world, but he realized the best stories he had to tell were set in New Orleans. He said, “There’s something about this city and the spirit of the musician, so free and experimental.” I couldn’t agree more Do. Now Aluma Winters and James Do will be performing shows in New Orleans under the name Winters and Do Harmony. Winters is is a percussionists and a cello player. Check them out tomorrow night, 8pm at the Ashe Cultural Center where there will be free wine and cheese, and open mic for poets after the performance.
